During 1890 U.S. investigators uncovered a sinister secret society called the Corleonesi, based on a Medievel cult. The gang came from Sicily but settled in the U.S.A. & were part of a wider criminal network called La Cosa Nostra. They killed the lead detective, this was the first time a U.S. jury heard of the Mafia.

New York at the turn of the century , a series of grisly murders take place where the victims are stuffed into barrels. Secret Service agents close in on a man of interest - a master forger & leader of the Corleonesi - Guiseppe Morello.
